Welcome to Leap to Scale, the podcast for technology-curious leaders of service firms who want higher margins without adding headcount. Each week, Justin Davis and Greg Ross-Munro discuss how consultancies, agencies, and professional services organizations can turn hard-won expertise into repeatable, sellable software. Each episode focuses on practical decisions behind productizing services, from identifying what should become IP to choosing the right path between custom delivery and scalable offerings like SaaS, packaged workflows, and AI-powered tools.
The show is grounded in real tradeoffs, not hype. Justin and Greg draw on years of experience building and scaling software inside service businesses to break down pricing, margin, delivery risk, and responsible use of AI. Leap to Scale is for technology-curious leaders who want clearer systems, stronger margins, and products clients can buy again and again, without compromising quality or trust.

Our Story
Greg and Justin have known each other for over a decade. They met at the Tampa Bay Wave startup incubator and accelerator and have been arguing about technology ever since. Over the years, they have repeatedly dragged each other into consulting projects, traded opinions mid-build, and stress-tested ideas across dozens of real-world engagements. Eventually, it became obvious that they were already working together, just without the paperwork. Today, they both work at Sourcetoad—together finally and officially.
Leap to Scale is a place for those long-running conversations. This podcast explores service delivery through technology, service productization, and practical, experience-driven tech decisions, with the goal of helping other operators who face the same challenges.
Greg Ross-Munro
Greg Ross-Munro has been programming since he was 8 years old, and is the author of Herding Cats and Coders, a practical guide to software development for non-technical leaders. He has spent most of his career as the founder of Sourcetoad, helping service businesses scale without unnecessary complexity.
Along the way, Greg has been an executive director and conductor of Startup Bus, the rolling hackathon, and an investor, mentor, and occasional unwitting participant in dozens of startups. Those experiences gave him a healthy respect for what works, what fails, and what looks like a good idea at 2am. Outside of work, Greg enjoys squash, judo, and interesting whiskeys, and is always happy to talk too long about any one of them.

Justin Davis
Justin is a product builder who lives in the space between creativity and logic. With a background in UX design, engineering, and entrepreneurship, he’s spent his career exploring how ideas become real, and why some never do. He’s especially interested in how people think, how products evolve, and how small decisions shape bigger outcomes.
Lately, his focus has been on building tools and sharing insights that help others move faster and ship more products into the world, especially in the world of AI. He believes the best work happens when you stay curious, embrace iteration, and keep momentum alive, even when the path isn’t clear.
